Genevieve Cother

Sustainable Systems Designer

Genevieve is an Industrial Designer with broad experience in a range of manufacturing industries over the past 20 years, including plastic injection moulding, print and packaging, textiles and metal products.

Systems architecture and certified management systems

Genevieve designs, implements and manages business management systems for clients. Based on her experience in manufacturing, and as a certified lead auditor, Genevieve specialises in highly customised process-based quality systems incorporating principles of Lean and sustainability and integrating ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.

The Action Learning Institute achieved RTO status (Registered Training Organisation under the National Vet Regulator Act 2011) with a complete management system designed and implemented by Genevieve to complement the Lean Action Learning program developed by Bob Cother.

Product Commercialisation

Genevieve has extensive experience undertaking product design projects from idea generation and initial concept development to full production. This is complemented by experience with identifying and engaging with distributors and seeing products successfully reach the market.

A significant part of Genevieve’s experience has been negotiation and collaboration with overseas manufacturers. This experience has been enhanced by the opportunity to travel overseas and observe production processes in Sweden and China.

Genevieve’s experience encompasses a diverse range of industries including injection moulded plastics, textiles and print and packaging. She has completed large scale development and pre-production work on many different products from playing cards to outdoor furniture.

In 2014, Genevieve completed a Masters of Sustainable Design at the University of South Australia, her research focussed on social innovation and industry cluster development. This academic background heavily influences her current project work with Business Action Learning Tasmania.
