Increasing resource efficiency in Tasmanian businesses will help drive down business costs, support business resilience and better protect the environment.

This seminar will explore opportunities for the application of Lean principles to increase profitability and sustainability.

  • Inputs and outputs: tools for identifying waste in the system
  • Reducing operational costs and environmental impacts through waste minimisation

This is the first in a series of four seminars to be delivered in Launceston and Burnie, introducing strategies for small to medium Tasmanian businesses to:

  • Help reduce their consumption of resources and minimise waste streams;
  • Reduce operating costs and drive productivity gains; and
  • Provide practical and tailored information regarding ways to improve their resource efficiency

The Business Resource Efficiency Program

Presented in partnership with the Tasmanian Climate Change Office, the Business Resource Efficiency Program is a key action of Climate Action 21: Tasmania’s Climate Change Action Plan 2017-2021.

The Tasmanian Climate Change Office is supporting small to medium-sized business owners to make informed decisions to improve their resource efficiency, reduce waste and operating costs and drive productivity gains.

This seminar series is part of a broader program including waste audits, tailored resource efficiency improvement strategies, action learning workshops, and one-on-one mentorship available for eligible SMEs.
