Introduction to Waste Auditing for Resource Efficiency

Understand the why, what and how
of waste auditing for resource efficiency.

Sustainable designer and BREP Facilitator, Genevieve Cother, will facilitate group learning about audit program design and implementation, drawing from over a decade of experience as a Lead Auditor ISO 14001 and Sustainable Designer.

By taking part in this workshop, participants will:

  • have sufficient information and materials to:
    • – conduct a waste audit in their small to medium-sized businesses, for the purpose of measuring the effects of implementing resource efficiency projects,
    • – evaluate the effectiveness of current auditing practices in their small to medium-sized businesses,
  • gain insight into auditing for relevant international standards and contemporary practices, and
  • learn with and from peers in other small to medium-sized Tasmanian businesses.

Genevieve Cother

Genevieve is an Industrial Designer with broad experience in a range of manufacturing industries over the past 20 years, including plastic injection moulding, print and packaging, textiles and metal products.

Genevieve designs, implements and manages business management systems. Based on her experience in manufacturing, and as a certified lead auditor, Genevieve specialises in highly customised process-based quality systems incorporating principles of Lean and sustainability and integrating ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
